It all started when…

Trying to find an occupation, I knew the need to explore and create was not something I could sacrifice. Lots of jobs were nice and I enjoyed a few but when I watched a few herb plants grow in my apartment and then transplanted them outside I figured out not much can compare to taking a seed and caring for it till it comes into its own and flowers, and every year you can watch those stages come in and out and over, and every year its always a bit different.

A aspiring farmer is maybe the most naïve person on the planet. I grew the herb borage the first year, and well I guess you could grow borage in a pot of stones, although I also guess you could say that the borage flower was so captivating I didn't realize some plants take a lot of work. Also, watering in not as easy as it is in a flower pot, when your talking acres. Bring in marketing, regulations, and just selling for profit and farming is not what it seems. However, when it comes down to it, I found everything in my life in the garden, my wife, my daughters, and myself. You don't need to make a career out of farming, but you can enjoy life around one.
